Mrs. Anna Davis, 58, of Covington, former matron of the Fountain County Home died Saturday August 10, 1974 in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. She had been hospitalized for two weeks. She was graduated from Perrysville High School. She was a member of Cates Church of the Nazarene, Cates Camp of Modern Woodsmen and Troy Township Democrat Women's Club. Born Nov. 11, 1915, in Wabash Township of Fountain County she was a daughter of Manford and Estal Wilkins Crowder. Her first marriage, in 1939, was to Leroy S. Merryman. He died in 1962. Her second marriage, in 1968 was to Carl R. Davis. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Samuel Merryman of Kingman and Roy Lee Merryman of Perrysville; a daughter, Mrs. Jane Ward of Hillsboro; a stepson Robert Davis of Crawfordsville; seven brothers, Fred, Rex, and Russell of Perrysville, Mike of Hymera, Earl of Attica, Harold of Covington and Samuel of Dana; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Clawson of Covington and nine grandchildren. Covington—Anna Merryman Davis, 58, Covington, died 12:20 p.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been in ill health one year.
  A native of Fountain County, she was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Wabash Township, the daughter of Manford and Estell Wilkins Crowder. Her marriage Dec. 23, 1939, was to LeRoy S. Merryman, who died Dec. 30, 1962. On May 30, 1968, she married Carl R. Davis, who survives.
  Also surviving are two sons, Samuel M. Merryman, Kingman, Roy Lee Merryman, Perrysville; a daughter, Mrs. Jane Estell Ward, Hillsboro; a step son, Robert L. Davis, Crawfordsville; nine grandchildren; seven brothers, Fred Crowder, Rex Crowder, and Russell Crowder, all of Perrysville, Mike Crowder of Hymera, Earl Crowder of Rt. 1, Attica, Harold Crowder, Rt. 1, Covington, and Samuel Crowder, Dana; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Helen) Clawson, Rt. 1, Covington. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
  She was a graduate of Perrysville High School. She was a member of Cates Nazarene Church, Cates Camp Modern Woodmen, and the Troy Township democratic Women’s Club. She was matron of the Fountain County Home for five years.
  Final rites were Tuesday morning at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Luther Page officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -s
